In certain areas of the NetSport website, you might be asked for personal information such as your email address or perhaps
your telephone number. We are asking for this information to show to other people who may be interested in your tournament,
camp/clinic or travel team tryouts, to facilitate their ability to contact you for more information. Providing
required information is mandatory in order to utilize the services offered by
this web site.
NetSport does not currently provide this information to any third parties. However, in the future we may. If we elect to do
this, rest assured that we would only deal with reputable persons who offer products or services deemed of interest to the
membership of this site.
There is one noteworthy issue. An Email Harvester - is someone who utilizes software to scan websites
looking for email addresses. They collect the information and put it in a database which they either sell, or use it
themselves to spam you. Harvesting email addresses from websites is becoming more and more popular because it allows spammers
to target their mailing lists. Imagine that every email address on this website is owned by someone with an interest in youth
sports.
NetSport can not block these harvesters from attempting to get your email address from our site. To us, they appear as any
other visitor would. HOWEVER, we can limit their success! We are re-working our code to use an internal form to use with
email. The form will post the email to the person who is supposed to receive it without ever divulging their email address to
the emailer. If you chose to reply to that email, you would be showing your email address to that person, but the choice will
be yours. Email addresses would no longer be visable to anyone, thus harvesters would not gain anything by scanning this
site. We anticipate having reworked the entire site in the 1st quarter of 2003. The delay is due to our waiting for an
updated copy of the message board software that incorporates this feature as well.
We at NetSport appreciate your continued patronage and look forward to working with you to Promote Youth Sports In Southern
California!
